The Scratch Cast - The Alternative Music Podcast - Episode 21

“The Spirit Of Lady Parts”

10th June 2022

It's been a long wait since the last episode of The Scratch Cast but we're finally back to discuss loads of new music released over the last few months!

On this episode, we reveal the truth behind the last episode's cover art and the 90s craze of Children's Tea Towel Art that inspired it.

Snedds runs through all the gigs and live streams he's seen recently, including an unfortunate interaction at Peat & Diesel in Elgin Town Hall.

The digital corkboard returns with updates from Joe Billy, Slippery Trashmouf, Viagra Boys, Voldo and MUDDY.

On our singles swap we review “Circles” by Hamilton, Ontario's alt-rock shoe-gazers Basement Revolver and “Everything Is Going To Be Alright” from experimental New Zealand producer Princess Chelsea.

On submission corner we've been sent the single “Dominoes” from Halifax, Nova Scotia's garage punk rockers Shoulder Season and the single “Some Call This Normal” from Scottish singer-songwriter Calum Baird.

And finally... our album selections this month are “THE UNRAVELLING OF PUP THE BAND” the fourth full-length release from Toronto punks “PUP”, the debut album ”Growing Up” from Los Angeles garage rockers The Linda Lindas and “Stoned Weekend” the debut album from New York's alt-psyche-country band Drug Couple.
